¡Hola! My name is Alejandro Moreno.

I was born in Mexico City in 1992, and I have always loved languages: I’m fluent in English and I’m currently learning Russian and French.

My story

My teaching career began in my teens and twenties, when I offered informal English tutoring to middle and high school students, primarily using the deductive method to help them succeed in their school exams. As I gained experience, I joined a language school where I was introduced to a teaching approach inspired by The Silent Way. Working there taught me a great deal about language instruction, discipline, and classroom management.

Over time, however, I became frustrated by the lack of academic freedom. While The Silent Way and its derivatives can be highly effective for auditory and kinesthetic learners, I felt that students with stronger visual or reading-and-writing preferences were often overlooked. I also noticed that many schools remained committed to a single methodology regardless of whether it truly benefited their students. That realization ultimately led me to become a freelance teacher.

After earning my Spanish teaching diploma, awarded by the Cervantes Institute —the leading institution for Spanish-language education worldwide— and obtaining a C1-level English certificate from Cambridge University, I began developing my own materials, tools, and lesson plans. During my certification, the inductive method was the primary focus, but I was also introduced to several other teaching approaches. Later, I independently studied the VARK learning model, which greatly influenced my teaching philosophy.

Today, I primarily combine inductive teaching techniques with VARK-based principles, adapting my lessons to each student's learning style and goals. I believe that, in many cases, learning difficulties are not caused by the student, but by a teaching method that simply does not suit their needs.
